TLDR: What's New in SAP BTP (July 2023)
What’s New in SAP BTP was a community call live on YouTube on July 18, 2023. Here are the highlights of this 1-hour call for busy SAP professionals.
SAP Build
Vanessa talked about SAP Build Roadmap and “strategic priorities”. Continued integration across the whole Build portfolio - mostly just "more intensity, more cowbell". Also, SAP Build is now part of RISE and GROW (wait, it wasn’t before?).
Big ticket item seems to be integration with Signavio and SAP Integration Suite under “Enterprise Automation” umbrella. Short demo presented around 15 minute mark showing a new hire process that ends up generating a laptop PR in Ariba.
SAP Integration Suite
Markus shared a demo of "Inspect Resource Usage" functionality (self-explanatory). I’m no CI expert but was rather surprised this is “new”, seems like a basic feature it should’ve had from the start. Demo starts around 24 minute mark.
Konstantin talked about release of APIs for Integration Assessment and "enhanced guiding content". This part starts around minute 36.
SAP Master Data Governance
The presenter had technical difficulties, unfortunately, and we didn’t get to learn much about this. Here is a summary slide.
SAP Cloud Identity Services
Marko talked about delegated user administration. The news is moving from authorization-based security to more policy/attribute based one. Well presented. This starts at minute 50 mark.
SAP GUI Secure Login Service
Christian presented around minute 57 mark. This was shared on SAP Community before and generated some buzz. It’s a new single sign-on experience for SAP GUI. No more Java AS, back-end is Cloud-based. Keeps you signed in even if you close the session.
