[Editors’ note: we Boring Enterprise Nerds value community highly. One of the best places we’ve been able to connect with fellow enterprise nerds is through ASUG. We recently discussed the ASUG 2023 Pulse of the SAP Customer research on our podcast, and the below message from CEO Geoff Scott explains more of the benefits of ASUG. This is not a paid advertisement - hopefully, readers see this and grab onto some of the goodies that we’ve been able to get over the years.]
At ASUG, Americas’ SAP User Group, our mission is to help people and organizations get the most from their SAP investments. We are here to not only help your organizations with SAP, but we are here to help you as you develop and progress throughout your careers with SAP. We are listening to our members (both customers of SAP and SAP partner organizations) through our community events, task forces, community alliances, and through our various research projects we conduct each year. The information that we collect from our members, we share back to the community through case studies, infographics, webcasts, editorial content pieces, and through shared stories from customers, partners, and SAP at our many events throughout the year.
Why should ASUG be on your radar? The ASUG community helps to validate that you are on the right track in your projects, planning, and in your career. Being part of a bigger community, or ecosystem of SAP users is good for your organization and good for your career. At ASUG, we provide opportunities to help you grow into, or evolve as, leaders in SAP through volunteering, by providing various opportunities to speak and share your stories of what has (or has not) worked for you or your organizations with SAP and by joining our Board of Directors.
We also bring you closer to SAP through our Influence Council meetings and our Think Tanks/Interest Groups. Influence Councils are member-led task forces organized to amplify customer feedback to SAP, while our Think Tanks and Interest Groups are peer-led knowledge-sharing discussions related to specific industries, roles, or technologies. We provide data and insights to help you measure and understand how you compare with the greater SAP user community. In 2022, we conducted 27 research projects, like the one Paul and Jelena spoke about on their latest Boring Enterprise Nerdcast. And, we provide resources and guidance to help you and your organization succeed with keeping up with the latest SAP technologies. We have developed ASUG Member Pathfinder, which are a collection of curated pathways consisting of content and member experiences that will help you discover the best solutions for your organization.
ASUG is not a new organization. Last year, in 2022, we celebrated our 30 th anniversary. We have over 100,000 members from a wide range of industries, locations, roles, and SAP expertise. At the local level, we have 38 local and regional chapters across the U.S. and Canada. No matter your role or what you’re solving for, ASUG members have been where you’re going and can help guide you to the insights you need.
ASUG membership is at the company level—giving your entire organization access to our educational and networking opportunities. Whether you’re getting your feet wet with a new release, knee-deep in implementation, or standing up for your strategy, we’re with you as you motivate and ready your teams to make real change.
